Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Creative Retail Sales Associate to join our team at Michaels Inc. in Nanuet, NY.

Job Summary

This is a dynamic retail sales position that requires excellent customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a Creative Retail Sales Associate, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional shopping experience to our customers, ensuring they find what they're looking for and receive a fast and friendly checkout experience.

You will also be responsible for unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, and maintaining store recovery standards to meet our brand promises.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, helping customers shop, locate products, and provide solutions to their needs.
  • Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience, executing cash handling to standards.
  • Engage customers on the benefits of our Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards, and complete enrollments as needed.
  • Educate customers on the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey and encourage participation.
  • Assist with Omni-channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
  • Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
  • Responsible for completing merchandise recovery and maintenance, including the merchandise return/go back process and general store recovery to ensure a well-merchandised and in-stock store.
  • Perform Store In-Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
  • Support shrink and safety programs.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Retail and/or customer service experience preferred.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This role requires the ability to remain standing for long periods of time, move throughout the store, and perform regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching. Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment may be required.

The work environment is a public retail store setting, taking care of our customers in climate-controlled areas, with some stock rooms not being climate-controlled. Some outdoor work may be assigned to retrieve shopping carts or while unloading trucks. The Frame shop contains glass cutter and heat press.

Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
