The Role:
Gorilla Commerce is on the lookout for a diligent, approachable, and eager-to-learn individual to join our team. In this position, you will collaborate closely with the quality assurance team, including testing engineers, inspectors, and compliance specialists, to support the successful launch of our products and enhance revenue and customer satisfaction. You will report directly to the Senior Manager of Product Safety & Compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the Gorilla Commerce Product Compliance processes and standards, ensuring records are accurate and current.
- Collaborate with the product development team to minimize risks by providing compliance and testing guidance for new product initiatives.
- Work alongside cross-functional teams and external service providers (Quality Assurance, Product Development, Sourcing, Vendors, Third-Party) to ensure product safety.
- Evaluate samples, lab reports, and inspection findings; communicate results and suggest necessary actions.
- Review and approve product labeling and packaging content.
- Provide testing guidance for product and marketing claims.
- Conduct risk assessments and maintain daily trackers.
- Monitor and generate product recall and regulatory reports monthly.
- Track product safety issues and document concerns for leadership review.
- Stay informed on new compliance regulations and maintain regulatory compliance documentation for all products.
- Attend industry webinars and conferences to remain knowledgeable about compliance and product safety trends.
- Support the Product Safety & Compliance Leader in overseeing the Gorilla Product Compliance Program.
Qualifications:
- Excellent proficiency in English, both oral and written.
- 2-5 years of experience in product safety, compliance, quality assurance, or product development within consumer goods, preferably hardlines.
- Familiarity with CPSC, FDA, California Proposition 65, and other regulatory requirements at both federal and state levels is essential; knowledge of international regulations is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with a customer service mindset.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- A proactive learner who is willing to exceed expectations.
- Collaborative problem solver with innovative thinking.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with data management and communication platforms is advantageous.
- Experience in ESG and import processes is a plus.
- Willingness to travel internationally may be required.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
