Geriatric Medicine Physician

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a part-time Geriatric Care Physician to join our team in Grand Junction, Colorado. In this part-time, onsite role, you will support the inpatient, Community Living Center, and Home-Based Primary Care, and may include Palliative Care for our Veteran population. The Veterans Health Administration Western Colorado Healthcare System features specialized personal care epitomizing excellence in healthcare delivered through a unique combination of medical center-based and local community-focused medicine.
The Opportunity:
- High-quality, inpatient care in the Community Living Center, Home-Based Primary Care, and Palliative Care
- No call and no nights
- Strong team support including pharmacy, psychology, nursing, and rehab therapy
Basic Requirements:
- MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine, board certified
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any US state
- Residency Training: Physicians must have completed approved US residency training
- Proven experience as a practicing physician specializing in geriatric medicine and acute care for elderly patients is preferred

Compensation:
Pro-rated, competitive salary, sign-on incentive potential, annual bonus range. Base salary range $110k - $125k plus up to $15k annual bonus. Position is also eligible for student loan payment reimbursement program if individual eligibility requirements are met.

The Grand Junction VAMC services those who serve our country providing critical medical services including acute and chronic inpatient and outpatient care. The facility consists of 53-bed capabilities for surgical procedures, specialty care, psychiatric in/outpatient services, as well as a Community Living Center, and social programs and services. The service area encompasses western Colorado and eastern Utah regions and includes the primary VAMC plus four satellite clinics.
