Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for performing a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, identifying teaching needs and goals related to the diagnosis of each patient, and collaborating with the patient/family and the Interdisciplinary team. The successful candidate will also review referrals for administrative and clinical completeness and appropriateness, validate requested medical services, and authorize surgery/medical procedures, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and general hospital procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission
  • Identify teaching needs and goals related to the diagnosis of each patient
  • Collaborate with the patient/family and the Interdisciplinary team
  • Review referrals for administrative and clinical completeness and appropriateness
  • Validate requested medical services and authorize surgery/medical procedures, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and general hospital procedures and regulations
Requirements:
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse
  • Graduation from a State Board of Nursing approved LPN/LVN training program or completion of equivalent military training that permits sitting for the State licensure examination
  • One year of experience as a licensed practical or vocational nurse in the last two years
