We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at Memorial Health. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate performance of laboratory tests that determine the presence, absence, or cause of disease.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct a full range of tests from routine to complex with minimal supervision.
- Operate computers, precision instruments, and other complex electronic equipment.
- Assume supervisory roles when required.
- Follow all policies and procedures.
- Perform quality assurance functions.
- Work weekends and holidays, with varying hours and shifts.
- Participate in all quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist with educational processes for students in the laboratory.
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or Biology.
- Certification by a national registry for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCP or equivalent) as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Scientist, or eligibility for certification with subsequent certification within one year of hire date.
- Customer service and laboratory experience preferred.
The physical requirements of this role include repetitive motions of the hands, bending, stooping, reaching, and carrying objects that may weigh up to 50 lbs. There is a potential for exposure to infectious agents and/or physical injury.
This role involves working with specimens from infants, children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.
