We are seeking a highly skilled Oncology Care Specialist to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care in the outpatient setting for cancer patients and their families.
Responsibilities:- Perform comprehensive initial and episodic health assessments to identify existing or potential health problems.
- Initiate and implement individualized nursing and medical plans of care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Initiate appropriate diagnostic, therapeutic, medical, and nursing actions in conjunction with physicians.
- Provide follow-up care, including acute and routine examinations.
- Assess progress, identify problems, initiate preventive measures, recognize emergent problems, and initiate proper care in collaboration with physicians.
- Monitor and adjust patients' medication according to protocol or medical plan of care, including adequate pain control.
- Oncology experience is highly preferred.
- APSHO Cancer Therapy Prescribing Course Certificate or AOCNP Certification required to prescribe chemotherapy/biotherapy.
- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.
- Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of New Jersey.
- Masters prepared in Nursing from an accredited program.
- BLS and ACLS certified.
