Job Title: Interior Electrician

As an Interior Electrician in the U.S. Army, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of all interior electrical systems. This includes installing transformers, junction boxes, circuit breakers, service panels, switches, electrical boxes, and lightning rods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read blueprints, wire plans, and repair orders to determine layouts and repairs
  • Test equipment for operational conduction of circuits
  • Inspect power distribution systems, shorts in wires, and faulty equipment
  • Repair and replace faulty wiring and lighting fixtures
Requirements:
  • Meet DoD requirements
  • Take the ASVAB, a series of tests that helps you better understand your strengths and identify which Army jobs are best for you
Training:

Job training for Interior Electrician requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field with on-the-job instructions, including installation and repair.
