About the Role:

The Academic Instructor provides instruction in basic education subjects such as mathematics, science, social studies, reading, writing, and language arts to inmates/students. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and be certified by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission in Adult Education, Middle Grades, English, Math, Social Studies, Science, Reading, Special Education, or Health/Physical Education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of students with varying skill levels.
  • Provide individualized instruction to students as needed.
  • Administer tests to evaluate students' progress and competency with subject matter.
  • Maintain a positive learning environment and adopt secure classroom management practices.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Certification by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission in Adult Education, Middle Grades, English, Math, Social Studies, Science, Reading, Special Education, or Health/Physical Education.
  • Three years of classroom instruction experience preferred.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications required.
  • A valid driver's license required.
  • Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
