About the Role:The Academic Instructor provides instruction in basic education subjects such as mathematics, science, social studies, reading, writing, and language arts to inmates/students. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and be certified by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission in Adult Education, Middle Grades, English, Math, Social Studies, Science, Reading, Special Education, or Health/Physical Education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of students with varying skill levels.
- Provide individualized instruction to students as needed.
- Administer tests to evaluate students' progress and competency with subject matter.
- Maintain a positive learning environment and adopt secure classroom management practices.
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
- Certification by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission in Adult Education, Middle Grades, English, Math, Social Studies, Science, Reading, Special Education, or Health/Physical Education.
- Three years of classroom instruction experience preferred.
- Experience in Microsoft Office applications required.
- A valid driver's license required.
- Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
