Position Overview
As a vital member of the facilities team, the Custodial Worker is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within the university buildings and their immediate surroundings. This role reports directly to the Custodial Superintendent.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning duties in offices, classrooms, hallways, staircases, lobbies, and other areas within the facilities.
- Execute floor care tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waxing, and polishing, which may involve relocating furniture.
- Clean both the interior and exterior of windows, potentially requiring the use of ladders.
- Maintain public and private restrooms, ensuring they are sanitary and well-stocked.
- Collect and dispose of waste in designated containers.
- Transport supplies and equipment across various buildings as needed.
- Ensure that the exterior areas surrounding assigned buildings are kept tidy and safe.
- Remove ice and snow from walkways and steps during winter conditions.

Qualifications
- Required: Completion of elementary education.
- Preferred: At least one year of experience in custodial services.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Familiarity with cleaning techniques and maintenance practices.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Capability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and supervisors.
