Position Overview

The Retail Sales Associate plays a vital role in enhancing the customer experience at Atlanta Botanical Garden. This position involves engaging with visitors to understand their needs and providing information about our diverse range of products. The associate is responsible for maintaining an inviting and organized shop environment, ensuring that all merchandise is presented to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests warmly and provide assistance with a friendly demeanor
  • Accurately handle all Point Of Sale transactions
  • Manage cash drawer operations, including opening and closing procedures
  • Actively promote and sell products available in the shop
  • Keep the sales floor tidy and restock items as necessary
  • Prepare new merchandise for display by pricing and checking items
  • Assist guests with purchasing parking cards
  • Guide visitors to various locations within the garden, including ticketing and dining areas
  • Ensure a clean and organized workspace
  • Collaborate with other departments to stay informed about garden offerings

Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
  • Prior retail experience is advantageous
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with colleagues
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with guests appropriately
  • Capability to manage cash transactions responsibly
  • Proficient in basic math skills
  • Familiarity with personal computer operations
  • Able to follow directions in a fast-paced setting
  • Capable of working independently as well as part of a team
  • Reliable transportation is necessary
