Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at South Texas Spine & Surgical Hospital. As a PRN RN Inpatient Specialist, you will provide exceptional patient care in our Medical-Surgical setting, working closely with our interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care, evaluating, planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care for assigned patients.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, performing various patient tests and administering medications within the scope of practice.
  • Establish patient care goals and teach patients and families to understand their condition, medications, and self-care skills.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, managers, supervisors, and coworkers about changes in patient condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing with current and valid licensure with the Texas State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
  • Orthopedic experience preferred.
  • BLS required, with ability to achieve ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and PALS certification within 60 days of hire.
  • 2 years of nursing experience required in the Medical/Surgical area.
