About the Job

As an Optician at AEG, you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive exceptional eye care and eyewear solutions. Your technical expertise and customer service skills will be essential in delivering an extraordinary experience to each patient.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients in selecting frames, lens type, and lens treatments, ensuring a proper fit and meeting their specific needs.
  • Interpret prescriptions written by optometrists and ophthalmologists, creating work orders for lab technicians as needed.
  • Dispense glasses by inspecting the product, checking for proper fit, and adjusting if necessary.
  • Perform eyewear adjustments and repairs using various tools, ensuring visual acuity, proper fit, and patient comfort.
  • Regularly communicate with technicians and/or store managers, providing additional patient information or asking for order status.
  • Clean and organize frame boards, displays, mirrors, workbench, office area, bathroom, and breakroom, maintaining overall cleanliness and visual appeal of the store.
  • Restock retail boards with new merchandise.
  • Understand product issues and analyze any problems, thoroughly and accurately answering patients' questions regarding insurance, warranty, products, materials, services, pricing, upgrades, promotions, etc.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred
  • Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Dependability and punctuality
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs, bend, kneel, and stand up to 8hrs a day
