Position Overview:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for:
Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and the patient/family to identify and address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
Promoting the optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through the nursing process, adhering to patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
One year of operating room experience is required.
Previous experience in orthopedic/sports medicine cases is highly preferred.
Daily Responsibilities:
Circulate and/or scrub on all surgical cases.
Primarily focusing on orthopedic procedures, including total joint replacements (hips, shoulders, knees, ankles, etc.), orthopedic spine, and sports medicine.
Providing breaks and/or additional supplies and sterile instruments as necessary during surgeries.
Assisting with room turnover and restocking for subsequent cases.
Acting as an advocate for patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Schedules are created every six weeks by the manager.
40 hours per week, days with variable shifts based on surgical volume and current unit needs.
No surgeries on holidays or weekends, similar to a surgery center. No weekends, no nights, and no on-call duties.
'Late Stay' is required and scheduled in advance—sign up for first, second, or third room late stays. A minimum of 10 late stays in six weeks is expected.
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing compassion to the workplace daily, qualified nursing candidates will need the following:
Education Requirements:
Associates Degree in Nursing is required; Nursing Diploma or endorsement is acceptable.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required for new graduates and preferred for experienced RNs.
Experience Requirements:
One year of experience is preferred.
Nursing skills and knowledge specific to the specialty are necessary.
Licenses/Certification Requirements:
RN License is required; current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
Physical Requirements:
Medium Work - (Exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly).

Our patient demographic includes spine and orthopedic cases, such as total hips, knees, shoulders, ankles, sports medicine, foot and ankle, hand and wrist.
OrthoColorado Hospital provides advanced orthopedic and spine care with an unparalleled level of service to help patients achieve the best quality of life.
Our team of physicians and nurses collaborates to support the healing ministry by caring for those who are ill and nurturing the health of our communities.
OrthoColorado promotes a positive culture, and our caregivers appreciate the intimate hospital environment.We exclusively perform elective cases, operating Monday through Friday, and are closed on weekends and major holidays, with no on-call responsibilities.
