Job Title: Lead Assembler

At Powell Houston-Canton, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Assembler to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the assembly process of our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of assemblers to ensure production targets are met and quality standards are maintained.
  • Assist in training new assemblers and implementing process improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance departments to ensure efficient and effective assembly operations.
  • Communicate and delegate daily priorities to other employees.
  • Release jobs to QA/QC and order parts from GEXPRO.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of system software (i.e. Oracle, MES, True View) to look up parts and drawings.
  • Lift up to 50lbs using proper lifting techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Equivalent Diploma.
  • Knowledge of mechanical drawings and designs.
  • Ability to complete complex engineering changes.
Working Conditions:
  • Safety-sensitive position in a temperature-controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and respirators when required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs or step ladders.
  • Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction.
