Job Overview

Shriners Children's is seeking a part-time Physician Assistant to provide medical services to children at our free-standing pediatric orthopedic specialty clinic and participate in a related surgical service at a St. Paul area hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Provide in-surgery support as first assist with Shriners pediatric orthopedic surgeons at a St. Paul area hospital
  • Conduct patient clinics and/or assist other physician specialists in a clinic setting: conducting history and physical examinations, providing patient care and treatment, assisting physician with interpretation of test results, managing orders in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and assisting with patient and family education
  • Ability to help with casting or splinting preferred
  • Conduct patient rounds at a St. Paul area hospital on a rotating schedule
  • Participate in traveling clinics to surrounding states
Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited PA program
  • Current NCCPA certification or be board eligible
  • Experience in orthopedics preferred. Pediatric experience highly preferred
  • Must possess or be eligible for DEA License
  • Current BLS certification. PALS certification preferred
