Key Responsibilities
  • Lead civil engineering projects with a focus on hydrology, water resources, drainage, and flood control
  • Design, prepare, and review engineering plans, reports, and calculations
  • Develop, review, track, and adjust project scopes, cost estimates, budgets, and schedules
  • Prepare deliverables that meet client specifications
  • Lead project meetings and prepare proposals, scope, and fee justifications
  • Mentor junior engineers and act as a technical liaison to clients and internal stakeholders
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Water Resource Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field
  • 4+ years of experience applying advanced hydraulic theory to analyze and design complex hydraulic structures
  • Experience developing complex 1-D and 2-D hydraulic models using HEC-RAS and XP-SWMM
  • Experience using HEC-HMS to develop hydrologic models
  • Experience developing economic loss models using FEMA HAZUS MH, HEC-FIA, and GO-consequence tool
  • Experience modeling cross-culverts using HY-8
  • Experience using ArcGIS, including ArcPy and story map tool, for visualizing and analyzing geospatial data
  • Experience using Python with Pandas and NumPy libraries to modify and extract results from hydrologic and hydraulic models
  • Experience developing engineering work product in compliance with FEMA, HCFCD, IBWC, and TxDOT standards, guidelines, and specifications
  • P.E. license
