Key Responsibilities- Provide routine daily nursing care to residents in accordance with facility standards and policies.
- Assist with the supervision of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and ensure that all nursing care is provided in a private and respectful manner.
- Monitor and record vital signs, dress wounds, and perform other nursing tasks as needed.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Accurately document resident progress notes and report any changes in condition to the Nurse Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Ensure that equipment is in good working order and maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.
- Participate in annual facility in-service training programs and complete other assignments as requested by management.
- Completion of LVN training from an accredited school or college.
- Valid LVN license in good standing.
- Valid CPR and BLS certification.
- IV certification is a plus.
- 1 year of skilled nursing and supervision experience preferred.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language.
- Ability to use a computer or tablet to enter resident data.
As a LVN at Monte Vista Healthcare Center, you may encounter frequent interruptions, work with residents, family members, and government agencies, and be requested to work beyond scheduled hours at times. You may also be exposed to odors, dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, or air contaminants, as well as infectious waste, diseases, and conditions such as TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
Physical RequirementsYou must be able to move intermittently throughout the day, work throughout the nursing areas, and lift up to 25 pounds. Lifting more weight up to 100 pounds with assistance may be required.
