Join the City of Rio Rancho, NM, as we seek a highly skilled and experienced Director of Utilities to lead our Utilities Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and repair of our city's water and wastewater infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the construction, operation, maintenance, and repair of the city's utility infrastructure, including planning, design, and coordination of vendors and contractors.
- Oversee the operational and fiscal performance of the water utilities contractor to ensure safe and efficient water and wastewater systems.
- Develop and maintain the capital and operating budgets, manage water rights acquisitions and water resource programs, and develop long-range water and wastewater utility planning programs.
- Represent the Utilities Department at Governing Body meetings, Boards and Commissions, and public hearings.
- Plan, implement, and manage a continuous program of maintenance, expansion, and repair of city water production facilities, distribution systems, collection systems, wastewater treatment plants, and water reuse and storage operations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a directly related discipline.
- Seven years of directly related experience, with three years in a supervisory capacity.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in New Mexico, or ability to obtain within three years of hire.
