Job Description:

The Associate Chaplain position plays a vital role in delivering spiritual care to patients, families, and hospital staff across our network. As a member of our Pastoral Care team, you will be responsible for providing individualized support, advocating for patients' needs, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide pastoral care to patients, families, and hospital staff in various settings, including individual, family, and group contexts.
  • Conduct thorough spiritual assessments to identify patients' needs and develop personalized care plans.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to foster a culture of empathy and understanding.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, progress notes, and statistical data to inform quality improvement initiatives.
  • Prioritize ongoing education and training to enhance spiritual care competencies and stay up-to-date with industry best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as theology or divinity.
  • Completion of at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from an ACPE-accredited center in an acute hospital setting.
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment, preferably in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma setting.
