Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of patients with substance use disorders, including medical and mental health evaluations.
- Administer and monitor medications, including those used for addiction treatment, and provide education to patients.
- Develop individualized care plans, taking into account the unique needs of each patient and their substance use history.
- Provide direct nursing care, such as wound care, IV therapy, and other medical procedures as necessary.
- Educate patients about addiction, recovery, and healthy lifestyle choices. Offer support and encouragement for their treatment journey.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and behavioral health technicians, to ensure holistic care.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including patient assessments, care plans, and progress notes.
- Advocate for the needs of patients, ensuring they have access to appropriate resources and support.
- Current and valid RN Nurse license in the state.
- Previous experience in substance use treatment and addiction medicine is a strong asset.
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
- Understanding of the principles of addiction treatment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
