ESOL Instructor

Organization Description: The African Community Education (ACE) Program is a non-profit community organization dedicated to addressing the educational and social needs of African refugee and immigrant populations in Worcester, MA. ACE works by providing access to academic support, community resources, and avenues for cultural expression.

We are seeking a skilled ESOL Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering instruction in English to adult learners. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching or facilitating adult classes, particularly in a multicultural setting.

• Plan and deliver engaging English language instruction to adult learners
• Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and needs
• Encourage students to practice speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills
• Administer assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and growth
• Create a supportive learning environment that fosters student responsibility and engagement

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Experience teaching or facilitating adult classes (ESOL) is highly desirable
• Experience working in a multicultural setting, particularly with immigrant populations
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Good understanding of cultural norms and ability to build trusting relationships with adults

• Competitive hourly rate of $25.00
