Job Summary

UNC Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join their team in Siler City, North Carolina.

This is a full-time position that requires a Medical Lab Science or Medical Laboratory Technology degree. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of patient testing and administrative tasks in support of the clinical activities in the UNC Healthcare System.
  • Investigate problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and/or workflow.
  • Participate on teams or perform special projects/assignments.
  • Teach Clinical Laboratory Science students and Pathology residents, and train new employees.
  • Perform quality control and equipment maintenance in the laboratory.
  • Prepare specimens and reagents, solutions, heat, or filters as required.
  • Report results to healthcare providers and consult/confere with them regarding test results.
  • Review test results to ensure accuracy of report and timely correction of errors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Medical Lab Science or Medical Laboratory Technology.
  • Eligibility to sit for the MT exam within 12 months of hire.
  • Obtain certification within one year of becoming exam eligible.
  • No prior experience required.
