UNC Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join their team in Siler City, North Carolina.
This is a full-time position that requires a Medical Lab Science or Medical Laboratory Technology degree. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities- Perform a variety of patient testing and administrative tasks in support of the clinical activities in the UNC Healthcare System.
- Investigate problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and/or workflow.
- Participate on teams or perform special projects/assignments.
- Teach Clinical Laboratory Science students and Pathology residents, and train new employees.
- Perform quality control and equipment maintenance in the laboratory.
- Prepare specimens and reagents, solutions, heat, or filters as required.
- Report results to healthcare providers and consult/confere with them regarding test results.
- Review test results to ensure accuracy of report and timely correction of errors.
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Medical Lab Science or Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Eligibility to sit for the MT exam within 12 months of hire.
- Obtain certification within one year of becoming exam eligible.
- No prior experience required.
