Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Animal License Canvasser. This is a temporary, part-time position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to enforce animal license ordinances and laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Canvass residences and businesses to enforce animal license ordinances and laws
  • Verify rabies vaccinations and collect payment for licenses
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for court use
  • Disseminate public education materials to residents and provide information on animal-related concerns
  • Assist other departments as needed and participate in promotional events
  • Utilize personal vehicle for work-related activities with mileage reimbursement
Requirements
  • High School Graduation or equivalent with 12 years of education and experience
  • Valid California Driver's License and good driving record
  • Ability to pass P.O.S.T. PC 832 Arrest Training Course and pre-employment physical examination
  • Background check and verification of identity and right to work in the United States
Working Conditions

This position requires extensive hours of driving, walking, sitting, stooping, and bending. The employee must be able to lift 50 pounds and tolerate weather extremes. Regular communication with citizens, staff, and city contacts is essential.
