Phlebotomy Specialist

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for collecting blood samples and processing laboratory test requests in a timely and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect blood samples from patients and process laboratory test requests in the Laboratory Information System.
• Ensure that Positive Patient Identification is followed throughout the specimen collection and delivery process.
• Interact effectively with physicians, patients, and other support services to provide excellent customer service.
• Participate in inventory management and optimal resource utilization.
• Assist with training of new employees.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required
• Successful completion of a Phlebotomy Program from an approved institution
• PBT (ASCP) or Equivalent within two years of hire
