Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the University of Minnesota. As a Child Development Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care and education to our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Caregiving: Develop and implement daily lesson plans to support the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of children.
  • Environment and Safety: Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment that promotes active participation and independent choices.
  • Communication and Family Relationships: Establish and maintain effective relationships with families, providing timely communication on child development progress and concerns.
  • Assessment and Documentation: Assess individual children's learning and development, maintaining accurate documentation and anecdotal records.
Requirements
  • A combination of education and work experience that meets State of MN State Human Services Licensing Act requirements for Child Care Centers.
  • First Aid training for child care providers and current certification in CPR.
  • Able to read, write, and understand English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschool children.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development or related field.
  • Good human relations skills and good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
