Role Purpose:

The Senior Accounting Specialist will play a crucial role in preparing journal entries, financial statements, and insights by conducting thorough account analysis. This position also entails reviewing general ledger information and preparing reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily and month-end journal entries.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations.
  • Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
  • Input accounts payable data accurately.
  • Follow up on outstanding invoices diligently.
  • Prepare audit documentation and respond to additional requests.
  • Assist with 1099 reporting and other financial matters.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements set forth by the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC, and other relevant exchanges.
  • Comply with the operational risk framework pertinent to the role, ensuring all regulatory and company standards are met.
  • Exemplify the highest standards of integrity and conduct, reflecting the core values of the company.
  • Maintain awareness of and comply with internal policies related to the role and responsibilities.
  • Report any policy breaches to Compliance or a supervisor as necessary.
  • Immediately escalate any risk events.
  • Contribute to risk management processes as required.

The company may assign additional duties as needed.

  • Understanding of fundamental accounting processes, procedures, and GAAP.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft accounting software is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in a regulated environment with knowledge of risk and compliance in the financial services sector.
