Job Summary

UPS is seeking a skilled Trailer Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance on our transportation trailers and converter dollies. The ideal candidate will have experience with diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers, as well as a full complement of personal hand tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on transportation trailers and converter dollies
  • Diagnose and repair non-power equipment, including air brake systems and electrical systems
  • Meet Department of Transportation (D.O.T) requirements
  • Work varying shifts, including additional hours and overtime as needed
  • Lift, lower, push, pull, leverage, and manipulate equipment and/or packages weighing up to 70 pounds
  • Assist in moving packages or equipment up to 150 pounds
  • Operate standard/manual transmission and power, pneumatic tools
  • Wear personal protective equipment
  • Work in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity, exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise
Requirements
  • Current documented trailer maintenance experience
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers
  • Possess a full complement of personal hand tools
  • Ability to work varying shifts, including additional hours and overtime as needed
  • Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, leverage, and manipulate equipment and/or packages weighing up to 70 pounds
  • Ability to assist in moving packages or equipment up to 150 pounds
