Job Summary
We are seeking an Architect to join our Northeast Engineering Design Organization in Harrisburg, PA. As an Architect, you will assist with the design, evaluation, and implementation of new buildings and building alterations for municipal and industrial clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Senior Architect by performing routine aspects of architectural assignments
- Perform design calculations, sketches, and technical comparisons
- Review and edit project specifications
- Prepare and edit designs and drawings recommended by Senior Architect
- Prepare portions of project documents
- Research code and regulatory requirements
- Research design options, component specifications, and document findings for Senior Architect and Job Manager
- Respond to contractor's questions and prepare alternate designs as needed under the guidance of Senior Architect
- Perform analysis and design retrofit of new and existing facilities
Requirements
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Architecture accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB)
- Licensed or close to being licensed in a jurisdiction
- Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in the design of commercial, industrial, and/or municipal buildings
- Ability to communicate both conceptual designs and construction details in two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with 3D documentation (Revit) capability
- Expert-level knowledge of CADD platforms such as AutoCAD
- Expert-level knowledge of Revit or similar BIM modeling software with a proven ability to manage models and perform clash detection
- Architectural modeling and detailing with proven experience with large and complex BIM project delivery
- Working knowledge of 3D scanning and data processing techniques
- Strong foundation in construction technology and sustainable design as well as a dedication to continued knowledge growth in those areas
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multi-discipline Engineering teams to meet project objectives
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites and client meetings as needed (primarily day trips)
