Job Description

Welcome to Dow Aero, a leading provider of innovative solutions in the aviation industry. We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Planner III to join our team.

This role is responsible for developing documentation that outlines the sequence of aerospace manufacturing activities. The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production personnel to ensure efficient manufacturing processes, on-time delivery, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review product data to determine raw material requirements, hardware needs, and scope of work.
  • Create Manufacturing Process Planning documentation, outlining the sequence of operations, including raw material procurement, machining, assembly, and inspection.
  • Incorporate post-machining operations, such as NDT, heat treatments, and plating requirements.
  • Plan the sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for production workers.
  • Prepare lists of required materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Identify raw materials, including special requirements, such as grain direction and maximum stock thicknesses.
  • Identify special instructions, such as masking requirements and part mark locations.
  • Integrate engineering changes into planning as they become available.
  • Knowledge of aviation industry and government specifications, such as Mil-Specs and NAS.
  • Proper use of forms and documentation as per Dow Aero Quality Manual.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • 7+ years of manufacturing and/or repair planning experience
  • 7+ years in manufacturing, engineering, or a similar field
  • Foundation in GD&T interpretation
  • 2D print interpretation experience
  • Project management and time management skills
  • 7+ years of MS Office experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related manufacturing or engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of Model-Based Definition (MBD) experience
  • 5+ years of experience with aviation specifications
  • 3+ years of experience with Boeing specifications (BAC)

Work Environment:

This role is primarily climate-controlled, with occasional exposure to loud noises, fumes, and particles.

Physical Demands:

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Hear
  • Lift, push, and pull objects (up to 50 pounds)
  • Reach with arms and hands
  • Sit, stand, stretch, talk, use hands and fingers, view, and walk

Expected Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime and weekends as required.

Travel Requirements:

Rarely (up to 10% of the year)

Required Personal Equipment/Tooling:

Protective steel-toed footwear when in shop areas.
