At Sylvan Learning Center-Pearland, we are seeking a detail-oriented and patient individual to join our team as a Math Educator. This part-time position involves delivering personalized instruction in math and SAT/ACT preparation to students of various skill levels.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and possess advanced knowledge of teaching or tutoring in calculus, algebra 1 & 2, geometry, and trigonometry. Previous experience in teaching or tutoring is preferred, as is strong communication skills and the ability to multitask.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach using Sylvan-based programs
  • Supervise, interact with, and motivate students during instruction hours
  • Reward students for completed assignments
  • Evaluate and document student progress
  • Communicate student needs to the Center Director and Director of Education
  • Inspire students
  • Develop rapport with students and establish a fun learning environment
  • Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree
  • Advanced knowledge and familiarity with teaching or tutoring in calculus, algebra 1 & 2, geometry, and trigonometry
  • 2 years teaching or tutoring experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask
