Job Title: Veterinary TechnicianDescription:

We're seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at Petco. As a key member of our veterinary care team, you'll provide top-notch care to our patients, deliver exceptional customer service, and contribute to the growth and success of our practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians with routine and emergency appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia's.
  • Perform patient restraint, obtain and process laboratory samples, handle and dispense medications as directed by veterinarians.
  • Schedule appointments, communicate with clients, relay test results, maintain client/patient records, and manage accounts receivable.
  • Prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures, monitor vital parameters during anesthesia, and prepare patients for discharge.
  • Provide in-hospital treatments, including administering medications and intravenous therapies.
Requirements:
  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the state where the hospital is located.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Compassionate and sympathetic attitude, with the ability to maintain a professional demeanor during emotional situations.
  • Telephone and computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a willingness to learn new techniques and treatments.
