Position ResponsibilitiesAs a Test Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to manage and support dynamometer test cells for propulsion and driveline systems, from initial setup through to the completion of test reports. This role involves utilizing dynamometer control software to accommodate customer testing requests, performing equipment calibrations, and troubleshooting test cell apparatus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate customer testing requests into our proprietary dynamometer control software, including configuring channel setups and developing automated test scripts.
- Translate customer documents and discussions into fully operational dynamometer tests.
- Troubleshoot testing systems and address customer product challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop concepts and deliverables that facilitate the efficient completion of customer testing requests and internal projects.
- Set up small-scale testing equipment, including analog sensors, electrical instruments, cooling systems, and other customer-specific requirements.
- Wire internal and external sensors to our data acquisition systems and industrial drive systems.
- Calibrate testing instruments such as torque meters, pressure sensors, and flow meters.
- Draft test reports for clients based on the results obtained.

Education and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the automotive sector is required.
- Fluency in English is essential.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills are necessary.
- Consistent attendance and the ability to work the hours required to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with effective communication abilities across all levels of employees, customers, and suppliers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the capability to learn other systems (e.g., Concur, Kronos).
- Ability to organize and maintain an efficient personal workspace.
- Working knowledge of the automotive industry is preferred.
- Experience in vehicle testing and validation is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Strong time management, multitasking, and organizational skills.
- Able to work collaboratively within a team of varying job levels to achieve common goals.
- Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between work sites as necessary.
- Hold a valid passport and be willing to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- On-site work may be required in accordance with our Remote Work Policy.
- Exhibit a positive attitude when giving and receiving instructions and tasks, treating all colleagues with respect.
- Adhere to and support all UTAC policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Exposure to industry-standard chemicals and noise levels.
- Regularly required to stand, reach, bend, and move throughout the facility.
- Able to lift and/or move materials as necessary to perform assigned duties.
- Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, twisting, bending, lifting, seeing, speaking, and hearing.
- Occasional travel may be required (locally, nationally, internationally).
