Job Overview

Position Summary: The Senior Accountant plays a vital role within the finance team at Let's Pave. This position is tasked with the preparation, documentation, and analysis of financial records, statements, and various financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to GAAP standards. The Senior Accountant collaborates with the Accounting Specialist on customer billing, vendor payments, cash application, and oversees sales tax processing and return submissions. This role requires close interaction with all organizational departments to guarantee that financial transactions are accurately recorded and documented in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements and manage month-end closing processes, ensuring all transactions are accurate and complete.
  • Generate and distribute financial reports to relevant stakeholders.
  • Compile a 13-week cash forecast on a weekly basis to assist in financial planning.
  • Identify and resolve financial discrepancies by gathering and analyzing account data.
  • Ensure timely completion of audits, delivering high-quality results.
  • Review and manage sales tax filings and submissions to governmental bodies.
  • Administer payroll processes effectively.
  • Manage company-issued credit cards, including transaction posting and platform oversight.
  • Provide guidance on best practices and optimizations throughout the transaction workflow.
  • Collaborate closely with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Develop and document accounting processes for improved efficiency.
  • Cross-train team members to support this role effectively.
  • Work with other departments to enhance operational effectiveness and processes.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statements, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management principles.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently within established guidelines, as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Strong ambition, self-motivation, and self-discipline.
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capacity to manage and excel under tight deadlines.

Education and Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in accounting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Experience in the construction or facilities sector is advantageous.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Well-versed in Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with work order management software or similar tools.
