Job Summary

Amergis is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in the Sevierville, TN area. As a Corrections LPN, you will provide general and emergency nursing care to adults and children in custody while maintaining facility security standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
  • Integrate referrals of inmates to staff physician, nurse practitioner, dentist, and mental health professional
  • Monitor patient condition and report changes to RN and/or physician
  • Collaborate with RN regarding plan of care and effective nursing interventions
  • Document patient response to nursing and other interventions
  • Participate in infection control activities and orientation of staff
  • Adhere to facility policy and procedure, and follow security guidelines
Requirements
  • Current Practical Nursing License in applicable state
  • Minimum of one year experience in Corrections preferred
  • Compliance with professional standards of practice
  • Participation in Amergis' Competency program
  • Current CPR and TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable)
  • Must meet federal, state, and local requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training
