About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Tate Inc. in Jessup, Maryland. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll functions
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide detailed explanations for deviations from comparable figures
  • Supervise the accounts receivable team, ensuring timely and accurate billing and collection of customer payments
  • Oversee the accounts payable team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments
  • Manage the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payroll
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role within the manufacturing industry
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with financial reporting software
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial analysis specific to the manufacturing sector
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
