Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Library Clerk to join our team at Gloucester County Library. As a Library Clerk, you will provide exceptional customer service to patrons, assist with circulation desk duties, and perform various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service to patrons, responding to their inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with circulation desk duties, including checking out materials, answering phone calls, and responding to in-person reference questions.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist with library programs and events, including registration and setup.
  • Operate a County vehicle to retrieve and distribute inter-office mail, deposit monies, and transport library materials and supplies between County libraries.
  • Continuously update knowledge and skills to stay current with library trends and best practices.
Requirements
  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in a customer service environment and some knowledge of library services.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends.
