Job Description

Job Summary:

Northrop Grumman is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our Armament Systems Business Unit in Mesa, AZ. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for fabricating various components and samples that meet design specifications, operating conventional and numerically controlled machining centers, and contributing to organizational initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate various conventional and/or numerically controlled machining centers, lathes, and surface grinders on semi-complex jobs.
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, planning sheets, verbal instructions, and/or engineering, tooling, or equipment information.
  • Contribute to organizational initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs.
  • Perform manual and CNC machine operations, including reworking parts, such as turning, milling, forming, drilling, tapping, and reaming parts.
  • Adjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to machine quality parts.
  • Inspect parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as gages, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Routinely maintain equipment to ensure cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Actively implement lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement.
  • Observe all company policies and procedures, especially safety rules, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Requirements:
  • High School Degree with a Minimum of 4 years Experience on CNC Lathes and Mills in a machining environment.
  • Ability to follow written, electronic and verbal instructions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
