Job Overview:

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Plastics Engineer to join our team at POLYWOOD. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative plastic profiles for our outdoor furniture products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and optimize extrusion die designs using advanced CAD software to meet client specifications and production efficiency standards.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends by researching and implementing the latest materials and technologies in die design.
  • Collaborate with our engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless integration from design to production.
  • Address and troubleshoot any design-related issues, providing innovative solutions to enhance product performance and reduce production costs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance die design processes and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Proficient in CAD design software with Solidworks experience and a strong understanding of extrusion processes and die design.
  • Knowledge of CAM software.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in plastic extrusion die design and a strong mechanical background.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically to solve complex design challenges.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Meticulous in your work, ensuring that designs are precise, efficient, and meet all required specifications.
