This is a full-time outpatient Speech-Language Pathologist position at Northwestern Medicine. The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week, with an approximate start time of 8am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, teaching, and participation on committees and departmental process improvement.
- Serve as a role model for all therapists and clinical interns in professional, clinical, communication, education, and leadership activities.
- Demonstrate the four Northwestern Medicine values of teamwork, patients first, integrity, and excellence in daily work and interactions.
- Present a friendly, approachable, professional demeanor and appearance.
- Provide accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers.
- Use effective service recovery skills to solve problems or service breakdowns when they occur.
- Maintain primary responsibility over patient plan of care through timely and consistent collaboration with treating Speech Therapy Assistants.
- Adhere to department policy regarding evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Participate in committees, department processes, and special projects in accordance with clinical expertise and individual performance plan.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with members of healthcare teams.
- Proactively complete non-patient care responsibilities within established timelines.
- Contribute to educational efforts of the department/clinic.
- Actively participate in student clinical or observation programs.
- Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- Speech Pathologist License in the State of Illinois.
- Current BLS within 90 days of hire.
- Preferred: Current certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology, or eligibility following completion of the Clinical Fellowship year.
