Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Truck Driver to join our team at Lumber Mart, Inc. in East Grand Forks, MN. As a key member of our delivery team, you will be responsible for transporting lumber and building materials to customers, construction sites, and our distribution center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate light to medium-duty trucks to deliver lumber and building materials to customers and construction sites.
  • Assist in loading and unloading materials onto trucks, ensuring proper handling and securing of the load.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company safety policies while driving.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel, and any issues encountered during transport.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and coworkers regarding delivery schedules and any special instructions.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle being driven.
  • Clean driving record with no recent moving violations.
  • Previous experience in truck driving or delivery roles preferred.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks related to loading and unloading.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service attitude.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with forklift operation or willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with lumber or building materials is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of local roads and routes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, and climbing.
