Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate RN to lead our Internal Medicine Unit at Ochsner LSU Health System of North Louisiana. As a Nurse Leader, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, mentoring and guiding a team of nurses, and contributing to the overall success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
  • Assess learning needs and develop effective teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, delegating and managing nursing resources to achieve optimal patient care.
  • Use data and evidence-based practice to drive quality improvement initiatives and promote positive change within the unit.
  • Embody the values of Ochsner LSU Health System, demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction, employee morale, and professional growth.
Requirements
  • Current RN license in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Preferred: Certification in a clinical specialty area.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
Physical and Environmental Demands

This role requires the ability to work in a patient care area, with exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
