Job Title: Corporate Lawyer
About the Role:
Murdoch's Ranch & Home Supply is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Lawyer to join our team. As a Corporate Lawyer, you will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice to our leadership team and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide proactive legal advice and strategic guidance to the Leadership Team and all departments on a wide range of legal issues.
- Ensure the company complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including employment law, consumer protection law, and industry-specific regulations.
- Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Advise on corporate governance matters and ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including vendor agreements, leases, construction contracts, software and technology contracts, and marketing programs, and provide strategic analysis as required.
- Oversee and manage all litigation and dispute resolution matters, working with outside counsel as necessary.
- Develop and implement company policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
- Conduct training sessions for employees on legal topics relevant to the business, such as compliance, intellectual property, and contract management.
- Manage relationships with outside legal counsel and coordinate their services as needed.
- Requirements:
- Have a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Be admitted to the Montana state bar and in good standing.
- Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate/business law, preferably with experience in the retail industry.
- Have a strong knowledge of contract law, commercial real estate law, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
- Possess excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
- Be able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate high ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Have experience working as in-house counsel, preferred.
- Be familiar with intellectual property law, preferred.
- Have experience managing litigation and working with outside counsel, preferred.
