Job Title: Music Therapist PRN/ Part Time

Job Summary:

The Music Therapist PRN/ Part Time will provide music therapy services to patients at Helping Hands Home Care. The ideal candidate will possess a baccalaureate or masters degree in music therapy and be certified to practice as a music therapist within the state.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides music therapy services to patients according to a written individualized plan of care.
  • Assesses and evaluates therapeutic status, and participates in the development of the total plan of care.
  • Directs music therapy treatment and determines priority needs for music therapy.
  • Reports to the physician patient's reaction to treatment or changes in condition.
  • Initiates music therapy program and instructs other personnel and/or family/caregivers in certain phases of music therapy.
  • Prepares and submits clinical and progress summaries based on the attainment of goals.
  • Provides music therapy consultation to families/caregivers, as appropriate.
  • Participates in the interdisciplinary group.

Qualifications:

  • Possesses a baccalaureate or masters degree in music therapy approved by an accredited organization.
  • Certified to practice as a music therapist within the state, or actively pursuing licensure.
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
  • Understands hospice philosophy.
  • Licensed driver with reliable transportation and is insured in accordance with state requirements.
