Job Summary:
Perryton Independent School District is seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing therapeutic services to students with speech, voice, or language disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' communication skills and develop individualized therapy plans.
- Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions to students, focusing on speech, language, and communication development.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective communication strategies.
- Participate in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee to ensure students receive appropriate services and accommodations.
- Consult with colleagues and other professionals to stay up-to-date on best practices and research-based interventions.
- Develop and maintain accurate records of student progress and therapy sessions.
- Supervise and mentor speech-language pathology assistants and aides as needed.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid license as a Speech-Language Pathologist granted by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
- One year of supervised clinical experience in speech-language pathology.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
Working Conditions:
- Work in a fast-paced educational setting with frequent interruptions.
- Exposure to biological hazards, bacteria, and communicable diseases.
- May require district-wide travel.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- May direct and monitor the work of speech-language pathology assistants and aides.
Tools/Equipment Used:
- Standard testing equipment.
- Standard office equipment, including computers and peripherals.
