Electronics Technician Job Description

We are seeking skilled and motivated Electronics Technicians to support on-site at Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC). As a key member of the Code 34 Imaging and Electronic Warfare (I&EW) Team, you will provide direct support to our team, working on the fabrication, manufacture, testing, installation, and maintenance of I&EW Sensors and Antenna Shipsets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mechanical and Electrical Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve complex issues with I&EW systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of sub-assemblies and completed systems, collecting technical data and analyzing results to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Inspections and Maintenance: Perform receipt inspections to determine serviceability of Fleet-returned assets, and conduct electrical and mechanical inspections to ensure vendor compliance of received parts.
  • Assembly and Installation: Assemble and install I&EW systems, including Engineering Prototypes, and provide feedback to engineers on product improvement opportunities.
  • Documentation and Communication: Develop and maintain accurate technical documentation, and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements and Skills:
  • Education and Experience: Technical School Diploma and two years' experience related to the above tasks, or a minimum of 6 years active-duty submarine combat system experience preferably with experience with US Navy Submarine Combat Systems.
  • Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, electronic testing procedures, and Standard Test equipment.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to learn and apply techniques quickly, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Clearance: US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
