Job Summary

Rio Grande Co. is seeking a skilled CDL Class A driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering goods and materials to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a semi-truck in accordance with state and federal transportation laws.
  • Transport loads safely and in a timely manner, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Maneuver the truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas, following loading crew signals.
  • Assist with loading and unloading goods and materials, using specialized equipment when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records, including signed invoices and shipping bills of lading.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the truck, reporting any malfunctions to the dispatcher or garage.
  • Arrange trailers in warehouse yards for optimal loading patterns.

Requirements:

  • Hold a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) for the weight of the vehicle.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience safely operating a Class A or B truck.
  • Pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state regulations.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily an outdoor position, subject to varying weather conditions.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 100 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting in the truck cab.
  • Frequent work performed in outdoor settings.
  • Frequent ability to lift, bend, stop, and kneel.
