Key Responsibilities
The Emergency Department RN will deliver services in accordance with the established policies of the healthcare system. Key responsibilities include:
- Accountability for all aspects of the nursing process while providing and supervising direct patient care.
- Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care tailored to age-specific needs.
- Coordination of care focusing on patient transitions, education, self-management post-discharge, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Consideration of individual characteristics, including age, health status, cultural background, values, and past experiences.
- Administration of medications and procedures in line with established protocols.
- Collaboration with interdisciplinary team members to influence care outcomes.
- Effective communication with individuals from diverse educational and ethnic backgrounds.
- Team collaboration in all assignments.
- Participation in quality improvement initiatives and customer service programs at the unit or program level.
- Completion of an accredited academic program for Registered Nurses (BSN or ADN).
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in at least one state or territory within the United States.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- A minimum of three years of recent experience in an Emergency Room setting is required.
- No sponsorship is available.
All candidates must be capable of:
- Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, squatting, bending, twisting, and reaching overhead during shifts.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
- Lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Carring up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
- Applying a push/pull force of 30 lbs.
