Job Overview

Job Summary

The Substitute Teacher Aide will provide instructional support to students with special needs, promoting maximum academic and personal growth. This role will involve working under the direction of the classroom teacher to provide extra support to students, assist with classroom management, and perform various administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups of students.
  • Assist teachers with classroom management and general supervision of the class.
  • Assist with administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materials.
  • Supervise students in the cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways, on field trips, and/or during before and after school programs.
  • Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs.
  • Support students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as become evident.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a HS diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Child Protections Registry Results.
  • Negative TB test.
  • All clearances must be from within last 365 days.
Working Conditions

This position works in an environment with moderate noise level. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions and outdoor weather conditions.
