Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our team at Mobile Staff Solutions. As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for planning, laying out, installing, and repairing wiring, conduit, electrical fixtures, and control equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret diagrams or blueprints to determine electrical system requirements.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using various tools.
  • Pull wiring through conduit, assisted by a helper.
  • Splice wires using a knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together and applying tape or terminal caps.
  • Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools.
  • Install control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels, and fasten in place with screws or bolts using hand or power tools.
  • Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads.
  • Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using a multimeter.
  • Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Load, transport, and unload material, tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Maintain tools and equipment.
  • Able to distinguish colors.
  • Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of electrical experience.
  • Provide personal basic tools to perform job tasks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Vocational or Technical certification (preferred).
  • Able to maintain regular, full attendance.
  • Able to work overtime during the week and weekend.
  • Able to grow in the position with a positive and willing attitude.
  • Able to remember and understand instructions, guidelines, and additional essential information.
  • Able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of self or others.
  • Able to legally work in the United States.
  • Able to pass a physical, drug, and background check.

The physical demands described are representative to successfully performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear; use fine hand motor skills; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Able to work in an industrial shop or field environment (being aware of your surroundings and operations going on around you). Able to climb on overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work. Able to work long hours performing essential duties. Able to see and hear, with or without correction. Able to respond to visual and audible instructions. Able to regularly lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. unassisted and regularly. Able to occasionally lift, push, pull 50 lbs. assisted and regularly. Able to read, write, and understand basic English. Able to withstand exposure to dust, grease/oil, noise, seasonal weather elements. Able to work in hazardous work environment around cranes, forklifts, moving equipment.
