We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Freeman Webb. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall maintenance of our properties, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other repairs.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including electrical and plumbing repairs, carpentry work, and painting.
- Assist in custodial work, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning common areas.
- Participate in grounds work, including landscaping and grounds policing.
- Repair and maintain equipment, including HVAC systems and appliances.
- Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Assist in the training of other staff members and participate in a standby emergency schedule.
- Be responsible for stock control and utilization of maintenance materials.
- Assist in scheduling annual apartment inspections and refurbishing of apartments prior to resident occupancy.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); prior maintenance experience or experience in a related field.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules and operating instructions.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Basic understanding of math and ability to perform calculations.
- Valid driver's license and insurability.
The work environment for this position will be fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent exposure to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The employee will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places, and will be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
